Wife-and-husband duo, Shruti and Nishant, started Fleck in the spring of 2019 in pursuit of creating a dream ceramic mug—one in which Shruti could enjoy her chai, and Nishant his coffee. Embracing this utilitarian approach to homewares, they launched an entire line of refined, artisanal goods that are at once beautiful and utterly usable. Think of a glazed, green bowl—evoking the first leaves of spring—for cereal, noodles or soup. Raw brass serving utensils that are just imperfect enough. And a natural-toned pasta plate that looks and feels the opposite of polished—like the sand under your feet, while walking on the beach. Shruti and Nishant work with more than 360 artisans in India, producing a growing range of ready-to-ship and made-to-order homewares, each adhering to Fleck’s commitment to the marriage of function and beauty.
